How to find your EF (LVEF)
EF stands for ejection fraction (often written as LVEF). It’s usually reported on an echocardiogram (echo) report. If you don’t have it, you can still complete the questionnaire — we’ll mark EF as “unknown.”
Quick tip: Look for the terms LVEF or Ejection Fraction on your most recent Echocardiogram or Cardiac MRI report. It is typically a percentage between 10% and 70%.
Look for these terms
- EF, LVEF, Ejection Fraction
- “Left ventricular systolic function”
- “Estimated EF”
- Sometimes a range (e.g., 30–35%)
Where it usually appears
- Echo report “Summary” section
- Echo report “Impression” section
- Patient portal → test results → echocardiogram
If you only know a description
Some reports say “normal,” “mildly reduced,” “moderately reduced,” or “severely reduced.” If you don’t see a number, choose “EF unknown” in the quiz and add that description in the notes.
Reminder: If you have urgent symptoms, seek emergency care.
